Carrer de Santaló, 8 · Sant Gervasi-Galvany
On Carrer de Santaló, a few minutes' walk from Turó Park and the Diagonal, you'll find Mediterránea, the restaurant at Hotel Zenit Barcelona. We serve lunch and dinner from a Mediterranean menu, there's a terrace, and you don't need to be staying at the hotel to book a table.

The neighbourhood
Sant Gervasi-Galvany is a neighbourhood of residents, offices and local shops, and Carrer de Santaló runs through it from the Francesc Macià end up to the Mercat de Galvany. Mediterránea's dining room is on the hotel's first floor and looks onto the street through a large window, with the trees just outside the glass. Pop down for lunch on any weekday or book for a relaxed dinner: it's the same menu for both, from a bowl of something warming to a paella for the table.
Book a tableThe soup, pasta and fish change daily, so ask what's on when you sit down. Up-to-date prices are on the menu.

Home-style cooking
Pollo a la Catalana is a traditional Catalan stew: chicken with prunes and pine nuts in its own sauce. In the same part of the menu you'll find the Solomillo ibérico confitado en Pedro Ximénez (Iberian pork tenderloin with Pedro Ximénez) and the Entrecot de Ternera with vegetable gratin, so there's meat for a weekday lunch or a longer dinner. If you're on your own or short of time, a main and the soup of the day are plenty. If there are more of you, order a couple of starters to share, such as the bravas or the croquetas.
See the menuDay to day
A salad from the menu, the soup of the day or a main such as the salmon or the milanesa makes an easy working lunch. If a few of you are coming from the office, book online and your table will be ready.
Evenings are more about sharing: a board of Iberian ham, croquetas, a paella or the arroz negro (black rice with squid ink) in the middle, then chocolate coulant to finish. Celebrating something? Let us know when you book.
There's a terrace for lunch or dinner outdoors. The outside tables aren't always free, so ask for one when you book and we'll tell you whether there's room for you that day.
If you just fancy a drink, there's vermouth, beer, a glass of cava or house wine, sangria by the litre and Aperol Spritz, all of which go well with some bravas or aubergine with cane honey.
